The tuner guys at Hennessey Performance took the Ford Mustang Boss 302 behind their curtain, plopped a supercharger on top--among other things--and headed to the drag strip. The outcome? Hennessey says 11.9 seconds at 124 mph for the quarter-mile--and that's with a 0-to-60-mph time at a Porsche-like 3.9 seconds.
Marvelous as it is a setting for car shows, Riverside Park in Ypsilanti, Mich., does present a risk: The park is built in the floodplain of the Huron River. When organizers showed up to stage this year's Orphan Car Show--the nation's largest to feature cars built by companies that no longer do business in America--on June 6, they found the judging stand underwater. Now it’s the turn of the XC90 R-Design. The new Volvo XC90 R-Design is exactly what you’d expect from an R-Design Volvo; enough bolt-on extras to denote something a little different and, perhaps, a little more sporty, but not so much it looks like the work of a pizza-faced teen let loose in a car customising emporium.
